Objectives
Equitation for All / EQUITOTAL aims to provide access to horse riding for people with disabilities or impairments (PCDI), more specifically children and young people, in the Lisbon and Tagus Valley Region (RLVT), promoting social inclusion, health and rehabilitation.
The project combines adapted sports activities with therapeutic components, focusing on the biopsychosocial development of beneficiaries. Thus, the project includes:
- Adapted riding sessions: riding activities adapted to the needs of participants, using specific techniques to promote physical and emotional rehabilitation.
- Sessions associated with music therapy: music therapy and therapeutic riding, combined, use music and horse movement to improve coordination, posture and well-being.
- Educational activities: workshops and educational sessions on horse care and riding practices, aiming at personal and social development.
- Social inclusion actions: initiatives to integrate children and young people with disabilities into the community, through events and social activities.
